WWE NXT Superstar Tony D’Angelo is said to be better than expected after suffering an injury on this week’s episode.
D’Angelo’s injury occurred earlier this month, but the show had been taped in advance and didn’t air until this week.
During a match with Wes Lee, the Don of NXT suffered a knee injury and went face-first into the turnbuckle.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reports that the issue is not as bad as first feared and he is not expected to undergo major surgery.
The report adds that D’Angelo could be back sooner than people would think.
After suffering the injury, D’Angelo was unable to stand, with the referee throwing up the ‘X’ sign, with Lee being awarded the victory.
