In a report by PWInsider, WWE is still planning to hold SummerSlam at the Performance Center despite failed efforts to hold the event in an outdoor location. The company even explored the option of having the event on a beach or a cruise ship, but that obviously didn’t pan out well.
As we reported yesterday, WWE is still planning to hold Payback a week after SummerSlam on August 30th. The idea is for WWE to run a major angle to set up for the Payback event, similar to what we saw in 1991 between Hulk Hogan and The Undertaker at Survivor Series, where the WWE Championship was won by The Undertaker in controversial fashion leading to the belt being vacated and a rematch booked for “This Tuesday in Texas” days later.
