Update: Zelina Vega returned on tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. She will be a contestant in the Women’s Money in the Bank match.
Zelina Vega’s potential return to WWE was first reported back in May. But, in the month’s since, she has yet to be seen on WWE TV. However, according to a new report from Fightful, this could be changing very soon.
The report states, “that the plan as of three weeks ago was for Zelina to return to the WWE main roster.” This was then elaborated on further, with the report stating that as of last month Zelina Vega was, “listed on internal documents…as a female heel on the Smackdown roster… The hope was to have her involved by the time Money in the Bank rolled around.”
In an additional update to the piece since it was first published, Fightful have now stated that the plan is for Vega to “return imminently.”
Vega’s release came on November 13th of last year. This came after Vega’ refused to give up control of her third-party platforms to the WWE. It should be noted that as of the time of writing, Vega’s third-party platforms are still currently up and in use.
In the time since Vega was released by WWE, her real-life husband Aleister Black (Tommy End) has also been released from his WWE contract. The report from Fightful also stated that there was no current update on a potential return to the company for Black.
