Updated – More Names From The Wrestling World React To Wednesday’s WWE Releases

UPDATE x 2: As you all know by now, WWE released Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana, Ruby Riott, Murphy and Santana Garrett on Wednesday. Many people from the pro wrestling world have taken to Twitter to react and we posted some of their tweets earlier today.

Now, we’ve got some additional reactions from the likes of Sasha Banks, Ricochet, Seth Rollins, Mick Foley, Adam Pearce, and others. You can check out their tweets below:

UPDATE: Former WWE Superstars Miro (Rusev) and CM Punk took to Twitter today, reacting to all of the recent WWE releases.

While he didn’t specifically mention WWE in his tweet, Miro seemed to make a reference to the releases, saying,

โ€œYou canโ€™t soar with the eagles if youโ€™re hanging with the turkeys.โ€

CM Punk also took to Twitter, replying to a tweet from Bloody Disgusting editor John Squires. Squires originally aid,

โ€œOne thing that has consistently bummed me out about WWE in recent years is that thereโ€™s been a *wealth* of incredible talent in that company, but they rarely seem to really know what to do with any of it. This latest wave of releases is a truly stunning reflection of that issue.โ€

CM Punk responded to the above tweet with the following,

“Itโ€™s like a movie with a blockbuster budget and cast, but if itโ€™s written by creatively bankrupt nincompoops specifically for an audience of one, in a language nobody understands anymore, itโ€™sโ€ฆ..trash. But people watch it because they like movies.โ€

Clearly, Punk is talking about the WWE creative team and how they write for one man and one man only – Vince McMahon. The “in a language nobody understands anymore” reference is as it pertains to how out of touch Vince is with reality these days. As many of you know by now, McMahon often “rips up” creative scripts on a weekly basis, to the point where there are changes still being made as the show is airing live. As you know, the ratings for RAW continue to tank. Back in the 1990s/early 2000s, RAW was drawing 6+ million viewers each week. This week’s show, albeit it airing on Memorial Day, drew 1.4 million viewers. That marked an all-time low for RAW, including holiday shows that have taken place on Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, etc. in the past. The final hour of Monday’s RAW averaged just 1.1 million viewers on the USA Network.
