— As noted earlier here on the website, Holiday Road, Jimmy Fallon’s television company, has pitched a pro wrestling sitcom project to NBC that is reportedly being heavily considered. The show, titled “Slammed” for now, is being written by Jon Rineman (one of Fallon’s monologue writers). The show would be a comedy set in a workplace setting except the setting would be a pro wrestling promotion.

— Former WWE star Kenn Doane (Kenny Dykstra) is now a freshman on the football team for Nichols College (Division III program) in Dudley, Massachusetts. Doane, who is 26, is listed at 6’3 and 238 pounds. Doane had college football offers coming out of high school, but instead pursued a career in pro wrestling training at the young age of 13 at Killer Kowalski’s school. When Jim Ross was in WWE’s talent relations, he informed Doane they wouldn’t be interested in him until he finished high school. Doane was quickly signed to a deal, trained in OVW and was brought up to to the main roster in 2006 as part of The Spirit Squad. He was released by WWE in October 2008.

— Former Miss USA and “Tough Enough” contestant Rima Fakih was asked in a recent interview if she was doing anything with WWE. Fakih said the company “didn’t want her.” She had been telling people at the Fan AXXESS event this year over WrestleMania 28 weekend in Miami that she was close to signing a deal with WWE.
