REFEREE SEMINAR SCHEDULED WITH FORMER WWE OFFICIAL JIMMY KORDERAS!
The professional wrestling referee is sometimes a lost or overlooked art in our industry. With the attention and spotlight firmly on the athletes performing in-ring, oftentimes its easy to dismiss the importance of an announcer, manager, or especially a referee in regards to the overall puzzle being put together. However, a bad referee can make a good match stink and make an ok match great just by knowing what to do, when, why, and how.
Now, in a very rare opportunity, legendary WWE referee Jimmy Korderas will open up about the ins and outs, rights and wrongs, subtleties and nuances of being a professional wrestling referee in a special seminar on Saturday afternoon, October 19 at 2pm at the IWC’s Iron City Wrestling Acadamy, just south of Pittsburgh, PA. Cost for the seminar is only $20 and is open to both current independent wrestling referees and referees in training.
Jimmy Korderas’ WWE career spans 22 years and thousands of marquee matches viewed by millions of people. Starting on the bottom in the 1980s, officiating WWF Live Events in the Ontario region, through hard work and perseverance, Jimmy worked his way up to the main event of WrestleMania, and was even specifically requested by both The Undertaker and Edge to officiate their main event World Championship match at WrestleMania 24. Whether it was being nearly set on fire by Kane, or “crossing the picket lines” during the infamous WWF referees strike angle of 1999, Korderas has seen, experienced, and taken part in nearly every wild and memorable scenario possible during his lengthy WWE tenure, and performed his job with dignity and honor through all the chaos.
During this seminar, you’ll be able to work out in-ring with, as well as speak to Jimmy, as he will stress referee psychology, what to do, and more importantly what not to do. You’ll learn proper conduct, what your role actually is in the course of a match, the correct way to interact with the in-ring talent (both in the ring and in the locker room), proper ring positioning, relaying information to the talent, how to recognize serious and legitimate injuries, what WWE looks for when scouting potential referee hirees, a Q&A session to address any specific concerns or queries and much more! There are so few opportunites for independent wrestling referees to learn from someone who has done it in any of the top companies, but now you can learn how to do things like the best of the best do! This is the first time Jimmy has done anything like this in the United States, and who knows when you’ll get this opportunity again!
Furthermore, this seminar will be your opportunity to appear on an upcoming DVD being produced starring Jimmy, as this session will be filmed for future use!
To reserve your spot, please e-mail [email protected] to reserve your place and also to arrange payment of $20 fee and receive further information. Take your officiating to the next level by learning from Jimmy Korderas on October 19!
— As noted earlier here on the website, there was a tease on RAW of Paul Heyman wanting to marry Ryback after he “saved” Heyman at Night of Champions. Instead, Heyman proposed that Ryback become the latest “Paul Heyman Guy.” Vince McMahon was reportedly behind the shock tactic taking place after making it clear to members of the writing staff that they feature “a spectacle” to lure viewers of ESPN’s Monday Night Football away during halftime. An unnamed creative writer then pitched the idea of teasing Heyman asking Ryback for his hand in marriage.
