Fightful Select has come through with a new report regarding “no-cut” clauses in WWE contracts. For those who might not know, a “no-cut” clause guarantees that a performer cannot be released early from the terms of their deal.

McMahon was said to be “vehemently against” the idea of those clauses. At the time, McMahon had the final say in the process due to his position in the company. It is reported that these clauses did not cost the company any potential free agents, though some are said to have inquired about the matter.

One person Fightful spoke to indicated that this was another example of Vince being set in his ways. The situation “put into perspective” the number of talents who would say, “Vince liked me, but…” following their release.

Not all of the front office suite was against the idea, however. Nick Khan is said to be open to the idea. Most talent have had positive things to say about Khan and his managerial style. Khan is seemingly willing to think beyond what WWE has done traditionally.
