During a recent appearance on the “Wrestling with Mindset” podcast, former WWE and Impact Wrestling star W. Morrissey (Big Cass) commented on his time in WWE working with nZo (Enzo Amore), his past regrets, and more.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On taking for granted how over he and nZo were in WWE: “I wasn’t the best worker at that time. But when we got there, you know, our wrestling wasn’t up to par. But now, our promos were fantastic. I always believed deep down that we would do something together on the main roster. If we did get that opportunity, I did believe that we would get over pretty, pretty good with the fans. We ended up doing that. I watch back some matches now, from those times. Man, I took it for granted then, but if you look into the crowd at some of the pay-per-views, so many people are wearing that Certified G t-shirt, in the moment. In the moment, I took it for granted. I just thought, ‘Man, it’s always going to be like this, the people are always going to be behind you,’ but to get the fans behind you to that degree, and then to keep them behind you to that degree is very, very difficult. So yeah, it definitely took some time. I took it for granted at the time. But it was just very magical. Things like that don’t come along very often, and I was just very blessed that I got to experience that.”

On his advice to enjoy the time before you make it to the main roster: “Enjoy it before you make it. Because there were so many times in FCW and NXT, where I was so worried and just so anxious to get to the main roster, and I completely didn’t cherish those times enough, especially [in] NXT, especially with that crew when we first started traveling. It was always, ‘When are we going to get called up? When are we going to the main roster?’ When I look back on my career, that was the happiest I ever was in wrestling was during that time in NXT when we first started hitting the road. So I really wished I would have cherished those times a lot more. So to anybody coming up in wrestling, cherish it now while things are hard. Cherish it while you’re not very good. Cherish it while you’re on your journey to making it because once you make it you’re gonna look back one day and say, ‘Man, that part before that — that journey was was way cooler.’”
