Walter recently chatted with the UK Mirror newspaper about Brock Lesnar, along with his ambition to turn the UK Championship in to the European Championship. Highlights below.
On Brock Lesnar:
“I will go in [the Royal Rumble] second, I don’t care. I respect the guy because I think Brock Lesnar is the smartest professional wrestler on the planet right now. The number one, work the least amount of time for everybody else, do your own thing… perfect. I like how everybody else hates him for that because they’re just jealous that they are not as smart as him, right? So yeah, of course. I would love to wrestle Brock Lesnar. He is one of my favorite wrestlers too, I think he is very skilled, very athletic. And yeah, that’s a good mind for wrestling. And yeah, obviously, I focus on definitely him being one of the matches I really want to do.”
Walter On Wanting To Rebrand The Title In To The European Championship*:

“The title is called the WWE United Kingdom championship, right? But I’m, I mean, look at the brand… it’s Europeans running it. That’s the reality. Suddenly the English people aren’t in focus. Jordan [Devlin] is doing really well, Imperium and Ilja Dragunov as well, enough so the key guys right now that stand out aren’t the English guys. I always said I see myself as a European champion. I think just focusing on England, or the UK is great for the UK. But I think being a champion for Europe is a way bigger task. Right?
Also, like Tyler Bate, I’m glad they made some English fans feel good about having their own WWE title. But for wrestling, it will be way more important if that gets represented in Europe, it’s more meaningful. So that’s how I see it. And that would be maybe one of my major goals to be the one that turns that title into a European title. That could be something that I call my test. But that’s not up to me. I can make the change but I could only make actions or performances that make them put it in that way. Right? So, but that’s that. That’s what I feel. So let’s get there. That will be my task of my championship.”
