The Wrestling Observer had previously reported that David Starr had parted ways from Progress. Due in part to the WWE’s influence, the idea was for Starr to exit the company as part of a “Career versus Title Match” at the 16 Carat Event. However, the show has now been cancelled and postponed.

The latest updates shows that WWE was directly involved with Starr’s departure. The reasoning was to stop him from unionizing UK wrestlers as a bold attempt to increase the salaries of his fellow UK wrestlers.

The decision was made based on the pressure given by WWE to part ways, as agreed to by both Starr and Progress.
