On today’s edition of The Wrestling Inc. Daily, Wrestling Inc.’s Nick Hausman spoke with former NXT Tag Team Champion Wesley Blake (now known as Westin Blake). In this conversation, the two discussed a multitude of things – one of which being his former stablemate’s recent push on Raw.
In regard to Ryker’s placement on the WWE Raw brand, Blake said:
“First of all, good for him. He’s still there. There’s nothing I could do about that.”
With the controversial nature of The Forgotten Son’s exit from television, Hausman asked Blake for his take on WWE’s portrayal of Ryker as a babyface. In response, he stated:
“It’s whatever the company wants to do. That’s nothing that I can control. That’s what creative wants to do with him so more power to them if that’s what they want to do. We made our tweets. We made our voices known, and now the best thing we can do is just try to make the best out of it… that’s what Steve [Cutler] and I did.”
Blake would continue to discuss his release from WWE, believing he would be a “lifer” with the company after his signing to NXT in June 2013. He would not go on to comment about his short-lived stint with Cutler as one of King Corbin’s lackeys. Alongside many others, Blake was released from his WWE contract in April 2021. Preceding Blake’s exit from the company, his former partner Steve Cutler (now known as Steve Maclin) would also be released – thus, leaving Jaxson Ryker as the soul Forgotten Son to be forgotten no more.
Following the erasure of the aforementioned stable, Jaxson Ryker would form an alliance with former WWE 24/7 Champion Elias. Elias and Ryker would begin to wrestle tag matches in February 2021 – however, the pairing would not pick up any victories. The pairing would embroil in mini-feuds with The New Day and R-K-Bro, but would inevitably break up three months later following a failed attempt at the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships. As of June 2021, babyface Ryker is feuding with a heel Elias. The two are scheduled to wrestle in a strap match this Monday on WWE Raw.
