According to a report from Fightful Select, former MLW wrestler Richard Holliday was backstage at Saturday night’s AEW Collision TV tapings in Hartford, CT. As of this writing, there is no word on if he’s simply visiting or if there is more to the story.
Holliday recently returned to in-ring action after battling Hodgkins Lymphoma.
In other news from AEW Collision, we now know what is in CM Punk’s red bag.
In a segment that saw CM Punk cutting a promo, the Second City Saint pulled the old AEW World title belt out of the bag and revealed that he was still the “real” AEW World Champion. Punk proceeded to pull out a can of spray paint and painted a large “X” (his logo) over the title and challenged anyone to come get it.
This led to Ricky Starks coming out, who said he was “owed” a match for the title. While Punk wound up accepting, he announced that Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat will be the special guest referee. This match will be taking place on next week’s episode of AEW Collision.
