As reported late last night here on eWn, AEW paid tribute to the legends of Memphis Wrestling prior to Wednesday night’s Dynamite tapings. The segment is expected to air on next week’s AEW Dark broadcast. For what it’s worth, AEW President Tony Khan pushed for the segment to be featured as he’s said to be a huge fan of the Memphis territory. Khan was always a huge fan of Randy Savage and was excited to have Lanny Poffo there.
Bill Dundee was originally set to appear on the segment. Some in the company claim he was booked but cancelled at the last minute.
