For those still wondering if Chris Jericho’s AEW World Heavyweight Championship being stolen is a work (storyline angle), it’s not. A police report was indeed filed and it’s legit.

The Tallahassee Online Police Statistics website confirms that an incident report was taken on September 1st at 7:13 PM EST at the Longhorn Steakhouse. The report notes that a “Grand Theft” was committed. You can check out a legitimate screenshot of the incident report below.

For those unaware, filing a false police report has serious repercussions and could result in criminal charges being filed. Also, it would bring a ton of bad PR for the Tallahassee Police Department. Tallahassee is also the state capital of Florida.

Actor Jussie Smollett’s career has been derailed, if not ruined, for allegedly filing a false police report. It seems highly unlikely that AEW would risk bad PR by doing the same thing.

With that being said, it seems that AEW is going to turn this real life situation into an angle as Chris Jericho released a video where he played off the theft and promised a “worldwide investigation.”
