There has been much speculation about William Regal leaving AEW in favor of a return to WWE.
It was previously reported that something was going on with Regal and AEW before he was written off television during Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite when MJF attacked him. It had been believed initially that Regal was under a three-year deal with AEW.
According to a report from Pwinsider, “All signs are that William Regal, 54, will be World Wrestling Entertainment-bound shortly.” Also, the report stated, “there have been rumblings within WWE of late about Regal returning in a backstage role.”
Fightful Select reports that “talent believes that Regal’s AEW deal could be up in December of this year, which was also being speculated at this past weekend’s WrestleCade event.”
