When Bryan Danielson revealed he wasn’t cleared to compete against Zack Sabre Jr. at Forbidden Door, many pro wrestling fans speculated on who his replacement would be. Then on the night of the show, it was revealed that one of the guys Danielson last worked with in WWE, Claudio Castagnoli (Cesaro), was his replacement and would join The Blackpool Combat Club. Last week, Claudio helped the stable defeat the Jericho Appreciation Society in Blood and Guts. Now, the mentor of the Blackpool Combat has opened up about its newest recruit.

On his Gentleman Villian podcast, William Regal praised Castagnoli and spoke specifically about his professionalism.

“Absolutely wonderful,” Regal said. “Incredible to have him, not only a part of AEW, but he’s one of my favorite people. I think he’s one of the great professionals of the world … We could do a whole podcast on my admiration for Claudio, and he’s a pro through and through, he’s incredible. Everything about him, the way he carries himself, what he’s gone through, how he’s got to this point in his life just getting to America … I really do think he’s quite possibly, when I say the best professional, professional around today, and maybe as much as anybody, ever.”

Castagnoli departed from WWE earlier this year. His final match occurred on the February 11th edition of SmackDown, where he suffered a loss to Happy Corbin in under four minutes. As Castagnoli settles in his new home in AEW, fans of his will have to wait to see what he does next.
