WrestleReunion and Sal Corrente sent out the following today…
We have finished WrestleReunion 8 in Toronto. It was a great event and I want to thank everyone at Highspots.com and also everyone on the talent and organizational end of the event and most of all the fans. Special thanks go out to our host Bill Apter, our Event Coordinator Colin Bowman and all the volunteers who helped to make it a great weekend especially Stephanie Bedard, Mark Ikasala, Greg Oliver and Mike Johnson.
As you should know by now this event was advertised as the final appearance of Bruno Sammartino for wrestling related events outside of the Greater Pittsburgh area.
He will be making an appearance at the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame to induct his friend Domenic DeNucci into the Hall of Fame in May. I have been asked by Bruno to once again state that he will not be making any further appearances for WrestleReunion or any other company unless it is in the Pittsburgh market.
Please do not attempt to contact him in any way, your phone calls will not be returned. He was very sincere in making the announcement that Toronto and WrestleReunion 8 was his final appearance. It was very important to him to visit the area one more time that gave him his break and the chance to achieve all that he has in his career. He has traveled for many years all around the Country for WrestleReunion and other companies making appearances.
All he wants to do now is spend time at home with his lovely wife Carol and his sons and grandchildren.
On behalf of myself and WrestleReunion I want to thank Bruno for all the support that he has given me and my company since I met him over 20 years ago.
I have committed not to ask anything more of him business wise because those are his personal wishes. I very much hope that all of you can do the same.
If you are one of the promoters who left messages that Bruno received when he got home from Toronto requesting appearances this summer, please do not attempt to contact Bruno again for this purpose.
We appreciate everyone’s understanding. If you truly want to meet a remarkable man make a trip to Pittsburgh for one of the upcoming appearances he will be making in that area.
