JBL says Fit Finlay is the best wrestler he’s ever seen.
While appearing on the “HUGE POP!” podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer lavished praise on Finlay and his work in helping the women’s division.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On the best wrestler he ever saw: “The best I ever saw was Fit Finlay. You got Shawn [Michaels], and Eddie [Guerrero], and Undertaker, you got some incredible talent… Finlay was the best I ever saw… Finlay when he was in Europe was, I think, the greatest professional wrestler ever.”
On Finlay’s work in helping the women’s division: “He was the one that brought the whole ‘women’s movement’ into being. I don’t know it was a rib or not, we all thought it was … all of a sudden you give him women that really didn’t have important matches. They didn’t, they were almost filler, which is terrible, a sign of the times. They are where they should be now, but Finlay was a guy who really helped bring them into this equality that they should’ve had all along.”
Nic Nemeth recently took to the “Busted Open Radio” podcast to share his thoughts on the Mr. McMahon docuseries that is currently streaming on Netflix.
Additionally, the TNA Wrestling World Champion commented on working with Shane McMahon in WWE and more.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On Vince McMahon being authentic in the series: “I didn’t think he expected any other news to happen while they were filming it that would, in the negative sense, so he really opened himself up.”
On seeing McMahon’s humanity in the series: “Just seeing a somewhat human side. I believed it. I bought it. Whether he’s telling the truth or not, it seemed like this is real; he wants to make his father proud, he wanted to take over. He just wanted to hear, ‘Hey, you’re doing great with this business.’ And then you watch it go full circle with Shane.”
On his experiences working with Shane McMahon: “[Shane] had all these ideas when I was around him. It was awesome. It was like a breath of fresh air seeing him when he would walk in. … in real life, behind the scenes, he was a very business-oriented, normal guy … I always liked working with him.”
