ECW legend Sabu passed away in May 2025 at the age of 61, which led to several wrestling personalities sharing tributes to the late wrestler.
On a recent edition of his “1 Of A Kind” podcast, Rob Van Dam shared why the official cause of death may never be publicly confirmed. He said,
“His divorce with his ex-wife [Hitomi] was never official, and they need her signature to investigate the cause of death, but she wants nothing to do with any of this.”
Sabu’s final match came against Joey Janela as part of WrestleMania week in Las Vegas and had been promoted as Sabu’s retirement match.
There have been claims that Sabu used drugs prior to his final match, resulting in a series of claims from Janela, GCW, Brett Lauderdale, and others.
