In the style of Alexander Rusev, Big E Langston, Elias Samson and temporarily even Apollo Crews, it seems someone decided Andrade “Cien” Almas was too long or complicated of a name and needed to be shortened.
On SmackDown tonight, they drove home the point that he is now going to be referred to as just “Andrade” even though his entrance music still states the rest of his name.
This was reflected on his TitanTron, Greg Hamilton’s announcement of him, the entrance graphic, and they’ve even updated his profile on WWE.com
Why this change was made is unknown, but given the flippant way these things happen from time to time, we can assume it was just some aesthetic choice made by Vince McMahon like all the other instances.
