WWE has scrapped the Day 1 event next year while changing up Survivor Series by using the WarGames gimmick starting this year.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter provided insight into another potential change to WWE’s premium live event schedule.
There are discussions about bringing back the King of the Ring tournament as its own event, with both a men’s and women’s tournament featured. He wrote,
“There is talk of bringing back the King of the Ring tournament with a show that would be both King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring.”
WWE used the King of the Ring gimmick last year, with the tournament finals taking place at Crown Jewel as The New Day’s Xavier Woods was crowned King, and Zelina Vega won the Queen’s Crown tournament.
