WWE could be forced to make some big changes to SmackDown Live once the blue brand starts to air on Friday nights on Fox on October 4, 2019.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that officials from the FOX Network want WWE to show less comedy and take more of a sports direction with the show as FOX plans to include SmackDown as a part of their new sports block of programming that will run Thursday through Sunday in 2019.
As a result, they want WWE Chairman Vince McMahon to make some changes to the product. It was reported once WWE signed the massive TV deal with FOX that the network wanted to do a lot of cross-promoting with the other sports programs they have.
