WWE Crown Jewel 2018 PPV Results – Lesnar vs. Strowman, World Cup Tournament

Welcome to the WWE Crown Jewel PPV! We get an intro video package to hype the matches that will be taking place tonight. Our opening contest is on the pre-show, a WWE United States Title match between Rusev and defending champion Shinsuke Nakamura:

United States Championship match: (C) Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Rusev:

Rusev begins working on Nakamura in the corner, and hits him with a suplex for a two count. Nakamura fires back now, hitting a drop kick for a two count of his own. Nakamura powers Rusev down to the ground and begins delivering knees to Rusev’s body while in a headlock. Rusev gets to his feet and begins to fight back, but Nakamura locking in the headlock even tighter now, and Rusev drops back to a knee, and further down to his stomach.

Rusev finally powers out with a face plant. Rusev counters Nakamura’s strikes and is firing up now. Bit clotheslines from Rusev and the crowd is eating it up. Spinning heel kick from Rusev, who misses another kick, and after some reversals from both men, lands a high kick for a two count. Rusev stomping on Nakamura now, but the United States Champion hits Rusev with a kick, which brings Rusev to his knees. Running knee to the face from Nakamura for a two count.

Nakamura comes off the middle rope but eats a superkick from Rusev for a two count. Rusev goes for the Accolade, but Nakamura gets to the ropes before he can lock it in. Kick to the back of the neck by Nakamura, who goes to the top rope and hits a knee to the back of Rusev’s head. Nakamura gets the two count and goes to the corner to call for the Kinshasa. Nakamura goes for it, but Rusev reverses into the Accolade.

Nakamura almost gets to the ropes, but Rusev releases the hold to drag Nakamura back away from the ropes, however, upon attempting to lock in the Accolade again, Nakamura uses his head to low blow Rusev. Once Rusev turns back around, Nakamura hits the Kinshasa for the three count and the win.

We kick off the main card with WWE Hall Of Famer Hulk Hogan making his first WWE TV appearance in several years. He will serve as the host for tonight’s Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia. Hogan talks about how good it feels to be back in front of the WWE Universe again. Hogan says the show starts right now and keeps his statement very brief. A few ear gestures to the crowd and they’re loving it.

First Round WWE World Cup Tournament match: Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton:

Mysterio is face planted by Orton early, but he shoots up quickly and responds with some leg kicks. Orton tosses Mysterio over the top rope, but Mysterio hangs on for a shoulder to Orton’s rips. Mysterio comes off the springboard but eats a nice dropkick on the way down from Orton for a two count. Orton tosses Mysterio on the top rope before stomping at his stomach after he fell to the canvas.

Orton sets Mysterio up on the top rope facing the crowd. Orton tries to take off Mysterio’s mask but eats some elbows in response. Orton back on the attack now and sets up for a superplex. Mysterio resists and delivers some shots to Orton’s body. A headbutt knocks Orton off the top, and Mysterio comes off the top rope to hit Orton, quickly hits the ropes for a cross body and a bulldog for a two count. More leg kicks from Mysterio, but Orton catches won, but then eats a kick to the face.

Orton falls into the second rope, Mysterio goes for the 619, but is caught and gets hit with Orton’s signature DDT. Orton teasing the RKO now. Mysterio counters into a roll-up pin, and he gets it for the three count! Orton is stunned. An angry Orton hits Mysterio with an RKO and the crowd is booing.

Winner: Rey Mysterio

Orton teases leaving the ring but then proceeds to completely assault Mysterio all around the ring area. Mysterio is helped to the back, his status for the rest of the tournament is unclear.

First Round WWE World Cup Tournament match: Jeff Hardy vs. The Miz:

Miz starts with a side headlock, but Hardy tosses him into the ropes but eats a shoulder as he comes back. Hardy taking control now, tosses Miz into the corner but misses on a dive. Miz looks for an early Skull Crushing Finale, but Hardy counters into a roll-up pin for two. Hardy now bashing Miz’s head into each turnbuckle in the corner.

Miz fights back with a kick that knocks Hardy down. He now headlocks Hardy and is grinding away. Jeff gets to his feet and breaks free with elbows. Miz reverses Hardy for a neckbreaker and a two count. Miz delivers some dropkicks to Hardy in the corner, and eats a big clothesline as he comes in for a third. Hardy attacking now, atomic drop for Hardy into a leg drop for a two count.

Whisper in the wind catches Miz in the head for a two and a half count. Miz back in control now, goes for the Figure Four but is rolled-up for a two count by Hardy. Hardy tosses Miz outside the ring and hits a dropkick outside. Hardy then runs off the barricade and flies into Miz. Hardy on the top rope but Miz rolls out of the way. Hardy jumps down but rolled-up by Miz, however, the count stops because the referee caught Miz trying to use the ropes.

Hardy responds with a roll-up of his own, but it’s no good. Hardy goes for the Twist Of Fate, but Miz reverses into the Skull Crushing Finale. Miz gets the three count and the win.

Winner: The Miz

First Round WWE World Cup Tournament match: Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins vs. Bobby Lashley:

Lashley tosses Rollins down early and flexes. Some chops and strikes from Rollins early. Lashley fires back now and tosses Rollins into the ropes. Rollins with a flying kick that forces Lashley to roll out the ring. Rollins looks to go for an outside dive, but Lashley zooms back into the ring and hits a chokeslam for a two count. Lashley grinding away at Rollins on the mat now.

Rollins back to his feet now and breaks free, but Lashley is back on the attack, smashing Rollins’ head into the turnbuckle. Lashley tosses Rollins into another corner and dives into his midsection for a two count. Lashley again grinds away at Rollins on the mat. Full Nelson on Rollins on their feet, and Lashley hits a DDT. Vertical suplex from Lashley, but Rollins fights out of it with a knee. Rollins clotheslines Lashley out of the ring, and hits a suicide dive on Lashley, and goes back for another one just for good measure.

Rollins tosses Lashley into the ring and goes to the top rope. Lashley hops up and jumps to the top to fight Rollins. Rollins rolls into a powerbomb position but Lashley escapes. He bulldozes towards Rollins, but Lashley misses and hits the ring corner. As he turns around, Rollins rolls him up and hits the Curb Stomp for the three count.

Winner: Seth Rollins

First Round WWE World Cup Tournament match: WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle vs. Dolph Ziggler

Amature wrestling from Ziggler and Angle off the bat. Very fun stuff, but Angle is clearly besting Ziggler in the exchange. Angle with a big takedown early and Ziggler finds himself in a rear-naked choke position on Angle. Angle powers up and tosses Ziggler into the ropes. Ziggler with a big shoulder and comes right into a belly to belly suplex from Angle. Big German Suplex from Angle now, and he hits another. Angle goes for a third but Ziggler uses the ropes to escape.

Angle going for a German Suplex off the apron, but Ziggler is holding on for dear life. Angle eats an elbow and is knocked off the apron. Angle gets tossed shoulder first into the steel steps. Ziggler tosses Angle back into the ring. Ziggler with a neck breaker for a two count. Rear-naked choke for Ziggler now. Angle fights out with some elbows, but Ziggler again reverses and jumps on Angle’s back for another sleeper hold. Angle backs into the corner and slings Ziggler off his back. Angle hits Ziggler with the Three Amigos for a two count.

Ziggler reverses out of the Angle Slam and hits a huge DDT for a two count. Ziggler misses the Famouser, and gets hit with an Angle Slam for the two count. Angle goes for the Ankle Lock, but Ziggler powers out and hits the Famouser for a close two count. Zig Zag reversed by Angle, and a roll-up attempt lands Ziggler in the Ankle Lock. Ziggler reverses out of it and is hoping on his ankle. Angle runs at Ziggler and misses, hitting the turnbuckle. Zigler capitalizes and hits the Zig Zag for the three count. Ziggler’s ankle is still bothering him, but he’s the victor nonetheless.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

SmackDown Live Tag Team Title match: (C) The Bar vs. The New Day:

Big E and Sheamus start things off. Big E with a running shoulder drops Sheamus. Sheamus fighting back now, with a headlock on Big E. After an exchange, Big E hits a clothesline for a one count. Big E tags Kingston in and hits Sheamus’ arm from the top rope. Sheamus pushed Kingston into the corner and tags in Cesaro. Cesaro flips Kingston from the corner, but Kingston lands on his feet and begins to dance.

Cesaro eats a dropkick for a two count. Kingston eats an elbow but hits a hurricirana to send Cesaro into the corner. Cesaro tags Sheamus who begins working on Kingston in the corner. Cesar tagged back in quickly and begins working on Kingston on the mat. Another quick tag back to Sheamus, and they double clothesline Kingston for a two count. Kingston fighting back now, delivering some nasty chops to Sheamus’ chest. A big kick to the gut stops Kingston. Cesaro is tagged in for the two count. Big slam from Cesaro for a two count.

Kingston fights back after feeding off the energy of the crowd, but Cesaro knees Kingston’s gut. Cesaro tags in Sheamus, who takes out Big E and begins working on Kingston again. They continue to double team Kingston for a two count. Kingston takes out both Sheamus and Cesaro and is crawling to Big E, and finally makes the tag. Big E comes in hot, hitting Cesaro with several belly to bellys. A big splash from E is blocked by Cesaro, who gets his knees up. Sheamus is tagged in but runs right into a slam for a two count.

Sheamus with now double teamed by Kingston and Big E, but only for a two count. Kingston is tossed at Cesaro outside the ring, and Big E is looking for the Big Ending on Sheamus. Big Show distracts Big E, but the referee puts a stop to it. A roll-up from Big E falls flat, and Big E is tossed towards Big Show. The referee moves out the way, but as his back is turned, Big Show hits Big E with a big right hand to the jaw. Sheamus follows up with a Brogue Kick for the three count.

Winners AND STILL SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions: The Bar

Semi-Finals WWE World Cup Tournament match: The Miz vs. Rey Mysterio:

Mysterio with a leg kick to Miz to start things off. Miz gets a roll-up for a one count, goes for another, and eats a knee to the face from Mysterio for a one count. Big knee to the body from Miz, who tosses Mysterio out of the ring, but lands on his feet. Miz out and Mysterio in the ring, who hits a dropkick followed by a sliding splash form Mysterio onto Miz outside of the ring. Mysterio gets Miz back inside and works on him in the corner.

Miz reverses a running attack from Mysterio and slams him to the ground. Miz gets a two count and now goes for a modified bow and arrow submission. Leg kick from Mysterio and he runs into a knee to the gut. Miz working on Mysterio on the mat, but Mysterio bites Miz’s fingers to escape. Miz now tosses Mysterio out of the ring. Back in the ring now, Miz is stretching out Mysterio’s abdomen. Mysterio reverses out and hits a DDT, and now both men are down.

Both men exchanging now, and Mysterio hits a crossbody for a two count. Miz sent into the turnbuckle and Mysterio flips Miz into the second rope. Miz escapes the 619 and hits the Skull Crushing Finale. However, Mysterio kicks out at a close two count. Miz now hitting YES! Kicks on Mysterio. Mysterio hits a roll-up that is good for two. Now Mysterio sets up Miz for the 619 and hits it. From Splash from Mysterio is blocked as Miz gets his knees up, and pins Mysterio for the three count.

Winner: The Miz

Semi-Finals WWE World Cup Tournament match: Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler:

Some amateur wrestling exchanges early on, and now Ziggler attacking Rollins. Ziggler wearing down Rollins on the mat now. Rollins to his feet now, who catches Ziggler on a crossbody for a bodyslam. Ziggler sent over the top rope and outside the ring. Rollins outside now and chopping away at Ziggler’s chest. Ziggler sent into the barricade and back into the ring. McIntyre now face-to-face with Rollins now, who dares McIntyre to hit him so he can get Ziggler DQd.

Rollins comes back into the ring and eats a big DDT for a two count. Neckbreaker from Ziggler now for a two count. Another headlock from Ziggler as he grinds away at Rollins. Rollins breaks free and charges Ziggler, but Ziggler moves, causing Rollins to hit the corner. Ziggler goes for the pin but it’s only good for two. Chops from Rollins now, but he eats an elbow from Ziggler after being sent into the ropes. Two count for Ziggler.

Neckbreaker from Ziggler for a two count. Now a sleeper hold for Ziggler, who modifies it into a face crank. Rollins breaks free for a roll-up pin that’s only good for two. The pair exchange roll-up pins, and it ends with a ripcord knee from Rollins for a VERY close two count. Rollins calls for the superkick, but McIntyre gets to the canvas. He strikes McIntyre and launches Ziggler outside of the ring as well. A suicide dive from Rollins hits both Ziggler and McIntyre. Back in the ring now, Ziggler hits a Famouser for the two count.

Ziggler to the top rope now, but Rollins shoots up there as well, hits the Superplex, goes for the Falcon Arrow, but Ziggler breaks free and hits the Zig Zag. But, it’s only good for a close two count. Rollins unloads a superkick, takes out McIntyre outside the ring, goes to the top rope, but Ziggler meets him there. Rollins shoves Ziggler off, but McIntyre pushes Rollins off the top rope while the referee wasn’t looking.

Ziggler hits a superkick for the three count and will advance to the World Cup Finals.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

WWE Championship match: AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe:

Styles has control early with heavy shots to Joe. Some big leg kicks from Styles. Styles is really focusing on Joe’s leg. Joe fires back with a chest chop now. Styles right back at him with a shot to the head. Joe rolls out the ring, and Styles follows only to be tossed into the time keeper’s area. Joe gets back into the ring but hits Styles with a suicide dive. Back in the ring, Joe gets a two count. Styles back in control and tosses Joe to a corner. Joe reverses and tosses Styles into the corner for a flying kick and a two count.

Styles showing some fight, hitting Joe with elbows, but a huge chop from Joe knocks Styles back to the canvas. Joe grinding away at Styles now on the canvas. Styles getting back to his feet and fighting back. They exchange elbows, but Joe eats a kick that knocks both men to the ground. Back to their feet, Styles and Joe exchange again. Styles going for the Styles Clash but Joe moves out. Styles hits a Moonsault Scorpion Death Drop for a two count and Joe rolls out the ring.

Styles jumps out the ring and hits Joe with a forearm before tossing him back in the ring. Styles going for the Phenomenal Forearm, but Joe moves and hits a running power slam for a two count. Styles out of a suplex attempt from Joe, and hits a leg kick. A huge clothesline from Joe is good for a two count. Styles looking for the Calf Crusher now and locks it in. Joe forces the break with the rope grab, a roll-up pin attempt from Styles lands him in the Coquina Clutch.

Styles counters by attacking Joe’s injured leg and he’s free. Calf Crusher attempt from Styles again is foiled, but he gets a Pele Kick that knocks Joe down. Phenomenal Forearm lands for Styles and he gets the three count and the win.

Winner AND STILL WWE Champion: AJ Styles

WWE Universal Championship match: Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman:

Baron Corbin blasts Strowman with the Universal Title to the back of the head before the match starts. Once the bell rings, Lesnar hits an F5 for a two count. Lesnar lifts Strowman up for a second F5, but he kicks out AGAIN. Lesnar is stunned. Strowman to his feet again, and eats another F5, and kicks out AGAIN! Lesnar lifts Strowman again, and F5s Strowman outside of the ring. Lesnar calls for the referee to count Strowman out. Strowman barely gets back into the ring before the 10 count.

Lesnar takes off his gloves and Strowman gets to his feet. Another F5 lift but Strowman gets out, hits Lesnar with a boot, but Lesnar hits another F5. This time, there’s no kicking out. Lesnar gets the three count, and is again the WWE Universal Champion.

Winner AND NEW WWE Universal Champion: Brock Lesnar

WWE World Cup Finals – The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler:

Drew McIntyre is sent to the back before the match begins. While Ziggler is distracted, Miz attacks Ziggler before the match officially begins. As Miz exits the ring, however, Miz’s leg gives out. The referee checks on Miz, who says he can continue. But the referee says that he can’t allow it to continue. However, the match never officially got underway. Shane McMahon won’t allow the official ruling to be a forfeit. McMahon will now take Miz’s place in the finals.

WWE World Cup Finals – Shane McMahon vs. Dolph Ziggler:

Shane McMahon goes right after Ziggler, but some temporary interference from Corbin gets him tossed from ringside. Ziggler capitalizes and is now in control, going after McMahon. Shane battles back and hits a spinning DDT on Ziggler, before tossing him into the turnbuckle in the corner. McMahon sees his opportunity for Coast-To-Coast.

Shane hits it, and gets the three count. SHANE MCMAHON WINS THE WWE WORLD CUP!

Tag Team Match: The Brothers Of Destruction (Kane and The Undertaker) vs. D-Generation X (Triple H and Shawn Michaels):

Triple H and Kane will start things off. Triple H talks trash to Kane and hits him with a punch. Kane tosses Triple H into a corner, but his swing is ducked. Triple H goes for a crotch chop, but before he can finish it he’s dropped by an uppercut. Kane is working Triple H’s arm now, but Triple H reverses and tags in Michaels.

Michaels delivers some chops to Kane’s chest and hits a neck breaker. Michaels goes for the Sunset Flip but Kane walks out. He’s back in his corner and tags in The Undertaker. Now its’ Taker vs. Michaels. Michaels begins chopping Taker’s chest but eats a big boot after hitting the ropes. Undertaker is working Shawn’s shoulder now and goes for Old School, but Triple H stops it.

Kane now in the ring and goes after Triple H. Kane and Undertaker clear DX out of the ring and stand tall. DX regroups outside and goes inside the ring and take the fight to Kane and Undertaker. Undertaker finally hits Old School on Michaels. Undertaker misses a flying knee and hits the corner, and Michaels tags in Triple H. Undertaker with the clothesline on Triple H, and he tags in Kane.

Kane bodyslams Triple H but misses on the diving elbow as he moved out the way. Both men exchange strikes and Triple H hits a DDT. Triple H tags in Michaels, who begins hitting Kane with chops, and a flying shoulder. Michaels with the inverted atomic drop, he takes Undertaker out, and fails on bodyslamming Kane. Triple H comes in for the assist and they hit the double suplex.

Michaels to the top rope and he hits the elbow to the chest, and now he’s tuning up the band. Kane catches the kick and hits a chokeslam. Undertaker gets the tag and works Shawn into a corner. Snake eyes and a boot to the face for Undertaker. He follows up with a leg drop for a two count. Undertaker motions for a chokeslam, but Triple H tried to enter the ring, and Undertaker punched him out. Michaels took advantage and hit Sweet Chin Music, but now both men are down.

Undertaker sits up and tosses Michaels out of the ring. Undertaker taking apart the Arabic announce desk. Triple H saves Michaels from a Tombstone onto the table, and Triple H tosses Undertaker into the barricade. Kane then chokeslams Triple H into the English announce table. Undertaker has Michaels on the apron and delivers his signature leg drop. Undertaker pins Michaels inside the ring for a two count. Kane gets the tag and works Shawn in the corner.

Two count for Kane, who then tags in Undertaker. A right hand from Undertaker drops Michaels. Undertaker hits a suplex on Michaels for a two count. Kane tagged back in now but Michaels has some fight left, attacking both Kane and Undertaker. Undertaker is knocked off the ring, but Kane hits the sidewalk slam. Kane goes to the top rope, but Michaels knocks him down. Undertaker from outside the ring drags Michaels out of the ring. He attempts to tombstone Michaels outside, but Michaels instead shoves Undertaker into the ring post.

Back in the ring Kane drives Michaels into the corner. Kane hoists Michaels on the turnbuckle and delivers a strike. Michaels fights back now, and hits Kane so hard his mask falls off, but the camera doesn’t show it. Michaels hits a moonsault on both Kane and Undertaker outside the ring (Kane is then showed maskless). Kane has now put his mask back on but is still on the floor.

Triple H has made his way back to the corner. Michaels is back in the ring and crawling towards Triple H, and makes the tag. Triple H going after Kane now and drops Kane with a knee. Undertaker in the ring now, and hits Undertaker with a spinebuster. Undertaker sits up and reverses a Pedigree attempt. Triple H reverses a Tombstone and hits the Pedigree. Kane gets up, but is tossed out the ring. Undertaker sits up and locks in Hell’s Gate. Michaels gets up and hits Sweet Chin music on Kane. Kane lands on Undertaker and breaks up the submission.

All four men are now down in the ring. Kane and Undertaker sit up together, and Triple H and Shawn Michaels get to their feet. Both men are hoisted up for Tombstones, but they escape. Sweet Chin Music hits for Michaels on Kane, who turns around and takes a Pedigree. Triple H gets the three count, and that’s it.

Winners: DX

Michaels and Triple H celebrate inside the ring as fireworks go off, and the show comes to a close.
