WWE Crown Jewel Results: World Cup Semi-Final #1


The following is from our play-by-play coverage of the WWE Crown Jewel PPV event:

Semi-Finals WWE World Cup Tournament match: Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler:

Some amateur wrestling exchanges early on, and now Ziggler attacking Rollins. Ziggler wearing down Rollins on the mat now. Rollins to his feet now, who catches Ziggler on a crossbody for a bodyslam. Ziggler sent over the top rope and outside the ring. Rollins outside now and chopping away at Ziggler’s chest. Ziggler sent into the barricade and back into the ring. McIntyre now face-to-face with Rollins now, who dares McIntyre to hit him so he can get Ziggler DQd.

Rollins comes back into the ring and eats a big DDT for a two count. Neckbreaker from Ziggler now for a two count. Another headlock from Ziggler as he grinds away at Rollins. Rollins breaks free and charges Ziggler, but Ziggler moves, causing Rollins to hit the corner. Ziggler goes for the pin but it’s only good for two. Chops from Rollins now, but he eats an elbow from Ziggler after being sent into the ropes. Two count for Ziggler.

Neckbreaker from Ziggler for a two count. Now a sleeper hold for Ziggler, who modifies it into a face crank. Rollins breaks free for a roll-up pin that’s only good for two. The pair exchange roll-up pins, and it ends with a ripcord knee from Rollins for a VERY close two count. Rollins calls for the superkick, but McIntyre gets to the canvas. He strikes McIntyre and launches Ziggler outside of the ring as well. A suicide dive from Rollins hits both Ziggler and McIntyre. Back in the ring now, Ziggler hits a Famouser for the two count.

Ziggler to the top rope now, but Rollins shoots up there as well, hits the Superplex, goes for the Falcon Arrow, but Ziggler breaks free and hits the Zig Zag. But, it’s only good for a close two count. Rollins unloads a superkick, takes out McIntyre outside the ring, goes to the top rope, but Ziggler meets him there. Rollins shoves Ziggler off, but McIntyre pushes Rollins off the top rope while the referee wasn’t looking.

Ziggler hits a superkick for the three count and will advance to the World Cup Finals.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler
