WWE Dominates AEW In Terms Of Online Search Popularity

WWE has dominated AEW, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and Impact Wrestling when it comes to being searched by online users.

Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics recently researched how much each company is being searched for online, with WWE emerging as the clear victor.

To date in 2022, WWE has garnered 80.1% share of Google web searches among promotions, with AEW taking second place with 12.4%.

New Japan Pro Wrestling was able to garner 5% and Impact Wrestling had 1.5% of the share.

Ring of Honor, the NWA and Major League Wrestling combined for a total of 1%.

Some have criticized Thurston’s research methods, with one eWN user claiming that he has only compared the specific names of the promotions (WWE, AEW etc) and not a wider range of terms (WWE SmackDown, AEW Dynamite, All Elite Wrestling.)
