There were plans for Austin Theory to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Roman Reigns before WWE went with a different idea.

On this week’s RAW, Theory cashed in on U.S. Champion Seth Rollins, the first time the briefcase has been used on a non-World Title match.

Wrestle Votes reports that WWE did consider Theory cashing in but on one of the two titles that represent Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

The plan would have seen Theory cash in at WWE Clash at the Castle during Reigns’ title match with Drew McIntyre.

“The only thing they could think of was with Austin Theory, is he was going to somehow make it known that he was only cashing in for one of the belts. Therefore, it became a triple threat, and Tyson Fury stopped him like he did, and Drew would then would take one of the titles.”

Theory is the latest Superstar to fail to cash in successfully, joining John Cena, Braun Strowman, Baron Corbin and others.
