WWE Had Plans For Sasha Banks To Wrestle Ronda Rousey Before Monday’s RAW

More details continue to come out on the Sasha Banks and Naomi situation.

As noted, Naomi was originally scheduled to win the 6-Pack Challenge on RAW but Banks and Naomi walked out of the building at the start of the show.

The plan was for Banks and Naomi to be featured in two or three segments to build on the idea that they would have to face off against each other in the 6-Pack Challenge, according to PWinsider.com. RAW was supposed to have ended with Naomi and Banks celebrating Naomi’s win where she would be facing RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.

The report states that Naomi was going to lose to Belair and there are some people in WWE who are under the belief that WWE was going to do an angle on Friday’s SmackDown to set up Banks to challenge SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at Hell in a Cell with Banks losing.

PWInsider added, “We are told that at some point during the day, likely after the initial concerns about creative were raised, there was an alternative idea that would have been Banks and Naomi have a short tag team match instead and be beat down after to set up a different program. One source cited their opponents would have been Nikki A.S.H. and Doudrop but we have not 100% confirmed that to be the case.”
