Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has said he “would die” for the opportunity to face Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

Reigns turned heel in August 2020 when he captured the title, and his work since then has been praised as his best work ever in WWE.

On his ‘Wooooo Nation Uncensored‘ podcast, Flair compared the Tribal Chief to one of his most legendary in-ring rivals. He said:

“I would die to wrestle Roman Reigns the way he is right now. How good-looking is that kid? He’s Steamboat.”

Flair went on to call Reigns an instrumental part of SmackDown being better than RAW, as well as others on the blue brand:

“I think it’s the better show myself right now, yeah. I think there’s two reasons. The main two reasons are Roman and Charlotte, but put Sasha [Banks] in the same mix, put Brock [Lesnar] in there. I know Brock is on both shows. It’s two hours. I think FOX is really coming on strong. It’s a great show.”

Reigns now holds the record for the longest-Universal Title reign in history and will defend the title this Saturday at Elimination Chamber against Bill Goldberg.
