According to a report from Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, WWE is currently a more profitable company than they were during the Attitude Era, which was when their ratings were at their highest and business was booming. The Attitude Era ran from 1998 to 2000 and they became a public company during that same time period.
The increase in profitability lately is due to increased revenue from RAW & Smackdown TV rights fees, WWE Network licensing in the United States and subscriptions internationally.
WWE is more profitable now than in its most popular era, 1998-2000, because of increased value of live sports broadcast rights.
