WWE No Mercy Results 2017 – John Cena vs. Roman Reigns


The following is from our play-by-play coverage of WWE No Mercy:

They lock up as all the fans are fired up for this one. Cena acted like he was going to walk out on the match. He went up the ramp, but Reigns stopped him with a right hand. We’re back in the ring and Reigns landed a series of strikes. Reigns hit a side slam for 2. Cena sent Reigns into the steel steps, and Reigns sent Cena into the other set of steps. Reigns hit the drive bye on the apron. Back in the ring, Reigns covered Cena for 2.

They exchanged right hands but Reigns cut him off with two kicks for 2. Reigns locked in a headlock but Cena got out of it. Cena with a shoulder block but Reigns connected with an uppercut. Reigns missed a clothesline and Cena hit two shoulder blocks then a side slam. Cena went for the five knuckle shuffle, but Reigns popped up and hit a samoan drop for 2. Cena tripped him and locked in the STF, but Reigns got out of it and powerbombed him for 2. They exchange right hands, and Cena caught Reigns then went for the AA and hit it for 2. Cena went to the top rope and attempted a leg drop, but Reigns caught him and hit a powerbomb for a near fall. Reigns hit the superman punch for a near fall.

Reigns missed a spear and ate the ring post. Cena went for an AA off the second rope and hit it, but Reigns kicked out of the pin attempt. Cena ducked out to ringside and set up the announce table for a spot. Cena went for an AA, but Reigns speared him through the announce table. Back in the ring, Reigns covered him for 2. Cena hit an AA then another one for the near fall. Cena got fired up and into the face of the referee. Reigns hit the superman punch and spear for the win!

Winner: Reigns

Post-match, Cena raised the arm of Reigns and they hugged it out while sharing some kind words. Reigns let Cena have the ring and walked to the back.
