A new report from Fightful Select has shed some light on the conversations backstage within WWE for several top stars’ WrestleMania 39 matches.

With regards to John Cena, the report noted that discussions backstage for his opponent at the ‘Grandest Stage of Them All’ have now moved away from Austin Theory, towards Logan Paul. It should also be noted that Logan Paul made it no secret that he wanted to face Cena at this year’s ‘Mania, remarking the following on his ImPaulsive podcast late last year:

“I mean, truthfully, I think me vs John Cena would break the internet. I texted Triple H right away, ‘do you want to break the internet again?’ That’s a dream matchup, dude: at WrestleMania, in LA, on my birthday. Triple H, throw me a bone, give me a birthday present, let me take out John Cena. And that’d be crazy.”

The report also confirmed that WWE want both The Rock and Logan Paul to appear at WrestleMania, but as of the time of this writing, neither of these have been confirmed yet.

With regards to other potential opponents for Cena, the report noted that the possibility of Cody Rhodes facing Cena at the event had been suggested, but this suggestion has not been mentioned since Triple H took over WWE creative.

Additionally, anything that Vince McMahon had “in mind” for WrestleMania’s creative is no longer on the cards under Triple H’s rule.

Finally, the report confirmed a report from last week that stated Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey is no longer set for ‘Mania. Talent within the company remarked that many involved with WrestleMania 35’s main event of Rousey vs Lynch vs Charlotte Flair believed that the match should have remained a singles bout. Finally, it was added that Lynch was fine with the idea of not facing Rousey, the latter of whom is still expected to have a top-billed match on the show.
