WWE NXT North American Champion Cameron Grimes vs. Carmelo Hayes was booked at this year’s WWE NXT In Your House event. The following is the play-by-play coverage of the match:
They traded some pin attempts early on. Hayes worked over Grimes. Grimes missed a dive and Hayes took him out with a springboard dive for 2. Trick Williams tied Grimes hand to the rope, but Grimes got out of it before Hayes hit a sidewalk slam for 2. Grimes made a comeback with forearm shots. Grimes caught him with a right hand then botched a move. Hayes with a codebreaker for 2. Grimes hit a spinning powerslam for 2. Grimes with a posionronna that sent Hayes to the floor and Grimes followed it up with an outside dive. Grimes laid out Williams with a stomp and Grimes missed a dive in the corner and Hayes hit the leg drop off the top rope for the win.
