WWE NXT Results – March 13, 2019: Ricochet & Aleister Black vs. Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano


Welcome to WWE NXT.

Last week saw the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.  Who will advance to the finals?  Will it be Aleister Black and Ricochet?  Will it be Moustache Mountain?  Will it be The Forgotten Sons?  Will it be DIY?   THe War Raiders say they will be watching.  It does not matter who emerges because none of you are ready for WAR.

We are at Full Sail University and your announcers are Nigel McGuinness, Mauro Ranallo, and Percy Watson.

Match Number One:  Moustache Mountain (Trent Seven and Tyler Bate) versus The Forgotten Sons (Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler [with Jaxson Ryker]) in a Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Semifinal Match

Bate and Blake start things off and Blake with a wrist lock.  Bate with a reversal and take down.  Blake with a slam and Cutler tags in and misses an elbow drop.  Bate with a suplex and he gets a near fall.  Bate with an arm bar into a wrist lock.  Cutler with an elbow and kick.  Cutler with punches and kicks in the corner and Blake tags in.  Blake with a neck breaker for a near fall.  Blake with a cobra clutch on Bate.  Bate lands on his feet on a belly-to-back suplex attempt and Seven tags in.  Blake is sent to the floor and Seven with chops and a DDT to Cutler.  Blake with a kick and Seven with a slam for a near fall.

Seven with a chopand Cutler makes the tag and Cutler with a chop block as Blake holds Seven.  Cutler with a kneeDT and he continues to work on the knee.  Cutler kicks Seven and continues to work on the leg.  Blake tags in and he hits a leg drop to the leg while Cutler holds Seven’s legs across the apron.  Blake gets a near fall.  Blake with a spinning toe hold and then he does it again.  Blake with another spinning toe hold but Seven with an inside cradle for a near fall.  Blake keeps Seven from making the tag and he applies teh figure four leg lock but Seven reverses the hold.  Blake makes it to the ropes to force Seven to release the hold.  Cutler tags in and kicks Seven.

Seven with a sunset flip for a near fall to counter an atomic drop to the knee.  Cutler avoids an enzuigiri and Seven with an elbow.  Both men with clotheslines and both men are down.  Bate and Blake tag in and Bate with clotheslines and a back body drop after an Irish whip.  Bate with a drop kick to Blake and then he hits a running elbow on Cutler.  Bate with an airplane spin on Cutler and then he sees Blake go to the turnbuckles and he gets Blake on his back as it is a jumbo jet airplane spin.  Bate with a double rana and it sends Blake and Cutler to the floor.  Bate misses a running shooting star press off the apron.  Bate with an exploder and then he hits a running shooting star press on Blake on the floor.

Bate goes up top and hits a corkscrew splash but Cutler breaks up the cover.  Bate sends Cutler to the floor and then he tags Seven in.  Seven limps as he applies a full nelson and Bate hits the clothesline into a Dragon suplex for Seven but Blake’s foot is put on the ropes.  Bate with a plancha onto Cutler and Blake.  Bate tags in and he goes up top.  Seven gets Blake on his shoulders but the referee is bumped and Bate is pushed off the turnbuckles and Ryker hits Bate.  Cutler takes care of Seven and then they hit the double stomp and reverse DDT combination for the three count.

Winners:  Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake (advance to Finals)

Matt Riddle is in the back and he is asked about why he confronted Velveteen Dream.  Matt says he wanted to see the title and say hi.  Adam Cole interrupts and he says that Riddle is clueless to think that he deserves a North American Title Match.  Cole says he will be the next champion and that is undisputed.  Matt says that Cole talks a tough game but why not meet in the ring?

We go to commercial.

We are back and NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler joins the commentary team for the next match.

Match Number Two:  Io Shirai versus Bianca Belair in a Number One Contender Match

Belair pie faces Shirai.  They lock up and Belair with a full nelson and Shirai escapes.  Belair with a shoulder tackle and she misses a drop kick.  Shirai with a drop kick and Belair goes to the floor.  Io sets for a dive to the floor but Belair moves.  Belair catches Shirai off the apron and Belair drops Shirai on the ring steps.  They return to the ring and Belair gets a near fall.  Belair kicks Io.  Belair gets a near fall.  Shirai escapes a slam and gets a near fall with a rollup.  Belair with a near fall on Shirai.

Belair with a double underhook but Shirai with a rollup and double stomp.  Shirai with a drop toe hold and Io with a Tiger Feint Kick.  Io with a springboard drop kick to Belair.  Io with a running double knee strike into the corner and then she goes up top but Belair crotches Shirai and puts her in the tree of woe.  Belair whips Io with her hair.  Belair goes to the turnbuckles but Io stops her.  Io climbs the turnbuckles and Io slaps Belair and then hits a Frankensteiner from the turnbuckles.  Io goes up top for a moonsault and lands on Belair’s knees.  Belair with a spear.

Shayna gets up from the announce table and she makes her way to the ring and she pulls Io to the floor.  The referee calls for the bell and Shayna with a Kirifuta Clutch.

No Contest

After the match, Kairi Sane makes her way to the ring and Shayna applies the Kirifuta Clutch on Sane. Io hits Shayna to force her to release the hold on Sane.  Shirai sends Baszler to the floor.  Io checks on Sane and Shayna returns to the ring and puts Shirai in the Kirifuta Clutch.

We take a look at Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic from two weeks ago.  We see the confrontation that took place last week at the Performance Center.  They will meet next week.

We see Aleister Black and Ricochet getting ready in the back for their match against Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Shayna Baszler is asked why she did what she did.  Shayna says everyone thinks they should face her for the title, but none of them deserve it.  Shayna is told that she will face Io Shirai, Kairi Sane, and Bianca Belair at Takeover.
