The following is from our play-by-play coverage of the WWE NXT TakeOver 31 event:
KUSHIDA vs. The Velveteen Dream
A brawl broke out to kick this one-off. After some chasing around, KUSHIDA targeted the right arm of Dream.
Dream battled back and hit a double ax off the top rope. Back in the ring, Dream beatdown KUSHIDA for a few minutes. KUSHIDA made his comeback with strikes and kicks. KUSHIDA put the right arm of Dream between the post and steel step and hit a drop kick. Back in the ring, Dream caught him with a super kick.
Dream went for an elbow drop off the top rope, but KUSHIDA caught him in an armbar. Dream rolled to the floor. Dream knocked him down and hit an elbow drop off the top rope for 2. KUSHIDA hit a spanish fly off the top rope before locking in a kimura for the win.
Winner: KUSHIDA
