The following is from our play-by-play coverage of the WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames event:
WWE NXT North American Title Triple Threat Match: Leon Ruff (champion) vs. Johnny Gargano vs. Damien Priest
They brawled to start things off. Gargano hit a spring board spear for a near fall. Priest hit his finisher to Ruff, which resulted in him flying through the barricade. Back in the ring, Priest and Gargano went back and forth. Gargano hit sliced bread on Priest for a near fall. Ruff made his way back to the ring, but Priest was overpowering Ruff and Gargano. Gargano tied up Priest in the ropes. Ruff laid out Gargano and got a near fall.
Ruff went to the top rope and missed a splash. Gargano put in the Gargano Lock, but Priest got free of the ropes and broke it up. Priest kicked Gargano in the head with a spinning heel kick off the top rope. Gargano rolled to the floor. Priest missed a splash in the corner. Gargano caught Ruff with a super kick. Priest hit a chokeslam to Gargano. Three people dressed up as ghost face appeared and attacked Priest, but he fought them off then another group, so a total of six people in costume.
Priest hit a chokeslam to Gargano on the apron and Ruff hit a splash off the top rope for the win. Gargano and Priest exchanged head kicks. A ghost face appeared and hit Priest in the back with a pipe. Gargano hit a super kick to Ruff then a spring board DDT for the win.
Winner: Johnny Gargano – NEW Champion
