As seen at Saturday’s (August 22, 2020) WWE NXT TakeOver: XXX event in Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University on the WWE Network, WWE held a Ladder Match to crown a new NXT North American Champion.
Keith Lee was the previous champion and even competed in a Winner Takes All Match against then-NXT Champion Adam Cole on a special episode of NXT. With Lee winning the NXT Title, he decided to vacate the North American Championship.
This ladder match saw Priest win and capture the vacant title. It was a wild match with various ladder spots including Gargano hitting a sunset flip powerbomb onto another ladder. Also, Dream was sent flying off a ladder over a barricade through a table.
