On Twitter, Stone confirmed that his mother died after a brief battle with stage four pancreatic cancer. He said,

“Everyone when describing their mother always says that they “have the best mother in the world.” I truly i believe I did indeed “have the best mother in the world.” She was my world. My best friend, my biggest supporter and most of all my safe place always.

Whenever something amazing or terrible happened to me she would be the first to know. I always gossiped w/ her about everything going on during my long wrestling car drives or airport connections over the years. She was ALWAYS there.

Unexpectedly less than 2 months ago we found out she had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. For someone who always cared for others… the one thing she never did was care for herself enough. I will never understand why certain things in life happen the way they do, but i’ll try to believe she is in a better place.

I’ll always have fond memories of many of the little things she did throughout my childhood. The way she cut my apples, scooped my ice cream cones and man could she make some dam good matzah ball soup.

My last memory of her was last weekend when I flew home to Jersey to see her and she went out to a restaurant for the first time in two months.

We brought her to Harold’s (if ya know ya know) to eat and she was living her best life. It really was a sight to see. Grabbing everything at the pickle bar from her wheelchair, ordering way more than she should have and of course boxing up some leftovers for my dad.

Two morning later I woke up around 7am to fly home and before I left I looked in her room to see her still sleeping (she never sleeps when I leave) peacefully. Something in me that morning knew it would be the last time I would see her.

Mom if I could tell you a few last things they would be thanks for making my childhood and adulthood the absolute best. Thanks for teaching me how to be the most loving parent to Cash and Carter (who love you so much). I am a very happy person and you are the reason why. I will love you for eternity and you have no idea the amount of happiness you brought to my life. As your up there teaching everyone the best coupons to pick I wanna let you know a day will not go by that I do not think about you.

The sun’ll come out tomorrow.”

Before coming to WWE, Stone worked for TNA/Impact Wrestling, where he is a former X-Division, World Tag Team, and Television Champion.

We here at eWrestlingNews.com would like to offer our condolences to Robert and his family at this sad time.
