The following is from our play-by-play coverage of the WWE Payback PPV event:
WWE United States Title Match: Apollo Crews (champion) vs. Bobby Lashley
They did some technical wrestling before Lashley caught him with some strikes. Crews managed a brief comeback before being sent into the top rope. Lashley followed up by sending him into the ring post.
Back in the ring, Lashley continued the dominance and hit the Dominator for a near fall. Lashley ate a head kick before Crews caught him with a crossbody off the middle rope.
Crews hit a splash in the corner then hit a spinebuster and a standing moonsault for 2. Crews sent him into the turnbuckle and hit a german suplex twice. Crews with a frog splash off the middle rope for 2. Lashley hit a big chokeslam then the full nelson for the win.
Winner: Bobby Lashley – NEW Champion
