As we’ve noted, WWE brought back the former WCW pay-per-view (PPV) event, Starrcade, for a live event in Greensboro, North Carolina this past weekend, and the event went extremely well. Several legends such as Ric Flair, Arn Anderson and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express made appearances; and two Steel Cage main events took place between Natalya and Charlotte Flair as well as AJ Styles and Jinder Mahal.
Per a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the event was a massive success for WWE and the belief backstage is that WWE will be bringing it back again next year. The event did the best numbers from the Greensboro market in quite some time. It should be interesting to see if events such as these boost live event sales in certain markets that have been struggling as of late.
