Rusev, who was moved to Smackdown Live as a part of the “Superstar Shake-Up” stated that he would not be returning to Smackdown Live until he receives a WWE Championship match, specifically at the SD Live exclusive PPV; Money In The Bank.
Rusev did not show up on Smackdown Live this past Tuesday which he was advertised for and that left many wondering, what happened to the “Bulgarian Brute”. According to Bill Bhatti of the “Dirty Sheets” podcast & SportsKeeda, WWE is not sure what to do with Rusev at Money In The Bank. Bhatti noted that Smackdown Live head creative writer Ryan Ward, proposed the idea of having Rusev win the Money In The Bank contract match, but the plan was changed to Rusev demanding a WWE Championship match.
According to the report, WWE is trying to figure out what to do in terms of getting Rusev to cross-paths with Shane McMahon and how their confrontation will happen.
