On this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Gunther got busted open during a segment with Ricochet.
Ricochet rushed to the ring with a chair to save Braun Strowman from Imperium. The Monster Among Men challenged Gunther for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, which caused Imperium to unleash an assault on the big man. As Ricochet swung, Gunther was caught by the tip of the chair.
Pwinsider reports that the Austrian Superstar was legitimately busted open as officials checked on him at ringside before rushing him to the back. Further reports suggest that Gunther was checked out and “seemed okay.”

There were a couple more Superstars who suffered injuries this week on SmackDown.
Sami Zayn got his nose bloodied during The Bloodline’s main event tag team match against John Cena and Kevin Owens. The incessant bleeding caused the referee to put on gloves for the purpose of overseeing the remainder of the match.
Kevin Owens also suffered a black eye during the highly-anticipated main event showdown on the final SmackDown of 2022.
And finally, Raquel Rodriguez got a cut on her hand during her SmackDown Women’s Title match with Ronda Rousey.
