As announced on yesterday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Saraya picked Toni Storm to be her partner against Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter for next week’s episode in Los Angeles, CA. This took some by surprise given many expected Mercedes Mone (Sasha Banks) to be her surprise partner.
Baker seemingly poked fun at those reports by calling herself “The Boss” during her promo. According to a report from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Mone isn’t coming to AEW, likely due to the fact that it will be a long term commitment. He also mentioned that WWE are “very strongly” under the impression that she won’t wrestle for AEW.
Several sources believe she’ll come back at some point after she gets this out of her system and works some NJPW shows. However, if she goes to AEW, she’ll need to sign a three-year minimum deal. It wouldn’t be a smart move on AEW’s part to have her on TV, only for Mone to return to WWE TV months later.
