WWE Superstars are reportedly “shocked” that Claudio Castagnoli has signed with All Elite Wrestling.
Castagnoli, formerly Cesaro, joined AEW at the recent Forbidden Door event, after departing WWE in February this year.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reports that Superstars were shocked to see Castagnoli debut, given the large offer WWE made to keep him.
The belief is that AEW either matched or surpassed WWE’s offer, and promised the Swiss wrestler a push he wouldn’t receive in WWE.
Meltzer speculated that Castagnoli is hoping to prove that he can be a main event talent, something that WWE never saw him as.
