The following is from our play-by-play coverage of the WWE TLC pay-per-view event that took place tonight (Sunday, December 16th, 2018) in San Jose, California at the SAP Center on WWE’s streaming service, WWE Network:
WWE Title Match: Daniel Bryan © vs. AJ Styles
Styles goes right after the champ and landed a series of chops then kicks. Bryan fired back with his own kick and avoided a drop kick until he walked into one. Styles clotheslines Bryan to the floor then went for an outside dive but was kicked in the gut. Back in the ring, Bryan worked over the legs and back of Styles Bryan continued the beatdown until Styles managed to make a comeback when he hit a major league clothesline. Styles landed a series of right hands and kicks then a clothesline for 2. Things spilled out to the ring where Styles continued the beating and sent him into the ring post. Back in the ring, Styles with a kick then went for a reverse DDT but Bryan landed a series of knee strikes to the face then a german suplex for 2. Bryan with a series of kicks to AJ for 2.
Moments later, AJ caught him with a head kick then a forearm shot but when he went for a spring board move, Bryan blocked it. AJ worked over the left leg of Bryan by using the ring post. Bryan fired back with a series of kicks then placed him on the top rope where AJ reversed and went for the Styles Clash but Bryan fought out. AJ with a half crab submission. Bryan and AJ trade kicks then Styles hit a spring board 450 splash for 2. AJ locked in the calf crusher on Bryan but Bryan got to the bottom rope to break it. Styles hit a forearm strike to Bryan on the floor then back in the ring, AJ went for it again but missed and avoided a knee strike. AJ with a roll up and Bryan turned it around and got the pin.
