Alexa Bliss made her highly anticipated return to WWE television on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown — but in a way that caught everyone by surprise.
Reports earlier in the day suggested that Bliss would be at the show, though it remained unclear whether she would appear on camera.
During the early part of the broadcast, a tag team match was announced featuring Chelsea Green and Piper Niven against Women’s United States Champion Zelina Vega and a mystery partner of her choosing.
Green and Niven likely assumed Vega wouldn’t find anyone to back her up. What they didn’t see coming was the return of Alexa Bliss as Vega’s surprise partner.
The match ended with Bliss hitting Chelsea Green with the Sister Abigail DDT, securing the win for her team.
