WWE may be rethinking a long-standing tradition in its annual calendar.
According to a report from Cory Hays of Bodyslam.net, WWE is seriously considering moving the 2025 Draft from its usual post-WrestleMania spring spot to a new timeframe following SummerSlam.
Traditionally, the WWE Draft has taken place in the spring to shake up the rosters for RAW and SmackDown in the aftermath of WrestleMania. However, internal discussions now indicate that the company is leaning toward holding the Draft in September, aligning it with the season premiere episodes of its weekly shows.
One of the driving factors behind the potential shift is WWE’s desire to let summer storylines play out naturally, rather than disrupting them mid-program. With SummerSlam set for the weekend of August 2–3, officials reportedly view that event as a logical point to reset the rosters heading into the fall season.
Additionally, recent NXT call-ups and ongoing long-term storylines have lessened the need for a spring Draft, giving WWE more flexibility in scheduling.
Although nothing has been officially confirmed, all signs currently point to the 2025 WWE Draft being positioned as a fall event — marking a departure from its traditional post-WrestleMania placement.
