As we previously reported here on eWn, the listings for WWE NXT on The CW Network have the show featuring a TV-14 rating. Previously, the show was rated PG on the USA Network.
According to a report from Fightful Select, nobody in production or the talent themselves have been told anything about a shift in presentation. One source stated that it would be “strange” to see NXT and not RAW and SmackDown change the age rating.
Additionally, a change with more relaxed language would likely cause issues with advertisers on the brand.
During a recent interview with HOT 97, WWE Superstar Jade Cargill commented on WWE’s hot streak these days. She said,
“That’s huge, guys. That’s a huge opportunity for us. I am so excited. When I tell you this business is booming, our numbers are overwhelming right now. Wrestling is taking off. I think everybody should get more involved. It’s getting higher, it’s getting more eyes on the product. We’re really out here doing things. We’re gonna tap into a whole new system, and I’m pretty sure we’re gonna skyrocket. We’re already skyrocketing.”
