During a promo exchange with John Cena on last night’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Cody Rhodes quipped that Cena looked “paler than Sting at Starrcade 1997.” More than just a punchline, the line subtly referenced longstanding backstage rumors from that infamous WCW event. Eric Bischoff has previously revealed that Sting’s noticeably pale appearance led to concerns among higher-ups that he wasn’t “ready,” prompting a last-minute change to the match’s finish.
Among the star-studded crowd at this year’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony were Major League Baseball standout Brandon Phillips and veteran WWE producer Kerwin Silfies.
Fightful Select is reporting that WWE NXT talent participating in WrestleMania 41 weekend events in Las Vegas were reportedly handed brutal local call times between 5 and 6 AM. That’s no small feat for a roster already balancing media duties, appearances, and live shows.
And finally, the Las Vegas scene is buzzing with WWE stars this weekend. Even performers not booked for SmackDown or WrestleMania 41 — including Omos, Maxxine Dupri, and Dakota Kai — have made the trip.
