During the 2025 men’s WWE Royal Rumble match, Drew McIntyre was eliminated by Damian Priest, which reportedly led to a heated incident backstage.
As we reported earlier here on eWn, something regarding McIntyre’s elimination in the match went awry.
Several sources suggested that McIntyre was “screaming and cursing” when he returned to the backstage area. The Scottish Psychopath was ranting about someone who “had to get their moves in.”
Moreover, McIntyre “loudly stormed out of the building” and left well before the men’s Royal Rumble match ended.
On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that several people confirmed McIntyre’s dissatisfaction, noting that it’s “not an angle.”
Meltzer also pointed out that McIntyre wasn’t the only one feeling upset and that the individual in question is someone “a lot of people were pissed at in that match with the idea that he was trying to get himself over and not the match over.”
Fightful later confirmed that McIntyre leaving in anger was real.
