In one of the weekend’s most shocking moments, TNA World Champion Joe Hendry made a surprise appearance on WrestleMania 41 (Night Two), stepping in as Randy Orton’s unexpected opponent after Kevin Owens was pulled due to injury.

Fightful Select is reporting that Hendry is still under contract with TNA Wrestling, and many within the company — including officials and talent — weren’t made aware of his involvement until late Sunday, just hours before the match.

WWE reportedly contacted Hendry shortly after news broke of Owens’ withdrawal. Despite his existing contract, the Scottish star managed to strike a swift, behind-the-scenes agreement that paved the way for his WrestleMania debut.

Hendry’s current deal with TNA is expected to expire within the next year. He recently secured professional representation, fueling speculation that he may be evaluating options outside the company.

Whether this marks a one-time crossover or the beginning of a larger collaboration remains unclear.
